Grand Geneva Say “I Do” Photo Contest – Mike & Suzi – Destination Wedding in the Midwest
30 Jul, 2010
Mike and Suzi were married at the Grand Geneva Resort on July 10, 2010. Even though the heavens decided to hail on the day of the wedding, Mike and Suzi were able to pull off a perfect wedding, and reception to follow, at the Grand Geneva.
Here is their story and photo submission for the Grand Geneva Say “I Do” Photo Contest.
Mike & Suzi
‘Who knew you could have such a beautiful destination wedding in the Midwest?! We certainly did not when we initially started planning our wedding. We wanted to escape from all the wedding details and head straight to Mexico! However, we stumbled across the Grand Geneva and all our worries were put to rest. It was the perfect place to get married. Our family and friends not only got to be apart of our special day, but were also able to enjoy a relaxing weekend of swimming and golf. There was only was problem…HAIL! About an hour before the ceremony was suppose to begin, huge rain clouds moved in with a storm to follow. At the time this seemed like a wedding day disaster, but the Grand Geneva staff was on hand with towels and up to the minute weather reports. Eventually, there was a break in the storm and the staff managed to pull off the wedding and later the perfect reception. As they say you have to get through the rain to get to the rainbow! We will never forget our wedding day at the Grand Geneva and it would mean so much to us if we could celebrate our one year anniversary at the resort.
