Grand Geneva Say “I Do” Photo Contest – Steve & Katie – A Bundle of Joy

Steve and Katie were married at the Grand Geneva Resort on July 11, 2009.

Here is their story and photo submission for the Grand Geneva Say “I Do” Photo Contest.

It has now been one year since our magical wedding day at the Grand Geneva, and we couldn’t be more astonished with how quickly life can change. Over and over again, we say how much we wish we could re-live that special day. Everything was so perfect from the weather during the outdoor cocktail hour, to the delicious dinner, exceptional service, thoughtful head waitress, beautifully decorated cake, Marlene’s helpfulness and attention to detail and finally to our suite with the romantic fireplace and champagne/strawberry treat.

One year later, we celebrated our one-year anniversary with a new baby girl – Olivia Rose. What a surprise she was to the both of us when we read the positive results on the pregnancy test. With Steve in school full time, and me, a middle school teacher, this surprise brought with it much anxiety and worry for how we would provide for a child and make ends meet. After a year of ups and downs, tears and laughs, she has arrived, a beautiful, healthy blessing. With such surprises in life, a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary was out of the question, so to relive that magical day we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Chophouse and talked about our hope and dream to someday spend another weekend at the Grand Geneva.
