Grand Geneva Say “I Do” Photo Contest – Mark & Jamie – They Say Love Conquers All Things

28 Jul, 2010

Mark and Jamie were married at the Grand Geneva Resort on August 11, 2009 and have entered our Say “I Do” Photo Contest. They truly proved that love conquers all things when they realized the day didn’t start out as they had planned. We are happy Grand Geneva could help in a big way to make sure their day was amazing and something they will never forget.

Congratulations to the happy couple and we wish you the very best!

Mark & Jamie’s story:

They say love conquers all things.  These words were never truer than on August 11th nearly one year ago.

The Grand Geneva is a place we hold dear to our heart, as it’s where we spent our first trip together and really realized we never wanted to be apart.  This made it the perfect place for us to have our ideal wedding, an elopement with just us and our then 3-year-old daughter.  Unfortunately, the trip was nearly canceled a few days before due to a medical emergency involving the bride, but we managed to make it to the Grand Geneva on time with our spirits high.  Then a few more troubles occurred with some outside vendors we hired for the big day! We awoke to find out the bride’s hair appointment was scheduled incorrectly, the make-up artist was M-I-A, and the babysitter for the evening was a no-show.  Luckily the Director of Catering for the Grand Geneva, was there to help us in all our planning, so with hair and make-up resolved as well as a replacement babysitter all lined up, we still managed to have our perfect, intimate ceremony and a lovely champagne dinner at the Ristorante Brissago later that evening.  The next morning, we had to rush the bride back to Illinois for an emergency medical procedure, so the rest of the week we had scheduled for our honeymoon was cut short.  Despite all this, we remember everything about our wedding day as absolutely perfect.  Our photographer, Matt Mason Photography, referred to us by Grand Geneva, captured everything for us as if it were a dream.  The location was absolutely beautiful, the staff was unbelievably helpful, and we could not have asked for better weather.  To us, there is nothing more fitting than to spend our first anniversary picking up right where we left off, only this time with a healthy, happy bride.

Thanks for the opportunity to enter this contest!

Sincerely,

Mark & Jamie Bulger
