Grand Geneva hosts annual Winter Carnival
25 Jan, 2012
The holidays might be over, but the snow fun has just begun at the Grand GenevaResort & Spa. On Saturday, February 4, the resort welcomes local residents and out-of-town visitors to their annual Winter Carnival, an all-day event held at the resort’s Mountain Top ski hill from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Winter Carnival will coincide with the community of Lake Geneva’s annual Winterfest event, serving as the wintery crescendo to a weekend of family fun. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. guests to The Mountain Top can enjoy activities ranging from snow school demonstrations to tobogganing competitions, slalom races, and an ugliest ski attire contest. Guests can also purchase raffle tickets for prizes including hotel overnight stays and free movie theater tickets. Kids of all ages can try their luck at a variety of snow games including human bowling, Bucky’s Buckets, a water balloon launch and treasure hunt. The resort’s ski staff caps off the evening at 8 p.m. with a torch light parade, followed by a grand fireworks display.
Admission to the Winter Carnival festivities is complimentary. Regular fees apply for snow activities including skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing. A full schedule of events can be found by visiting http://www.grandgeneva.com/specials/winter_carnival.asp or by calling (262) 249-4726.
