Sip and Savor at the New Lake Geneva Festival of Wine in Lake Geneva, drugstore Wisconsin April 8 – 10, 2016
Calling all wine lovers! A brand new event – the Lake Geneva Festival of Wine – is coming to Grand Geneva Resort & Spa April 8-10. Take part in wine tastings, stuff entertainment, education, and wellness for a weekend packed with vino entertainment. Here are four ways to sip and swirl!
The marquee wine event of the weekend is the Grand Tasting on Saturday afternoon, where wineries from around the region and country will be on hand, offering sips and information from the winery. And don’t miss the Wilmot High School ProStart Team battling it out in a Iron Chef style competition. A portion of the proceeds from the Grand Tasting benefit the ProStart Team and the Lake Geneva Food Pantry.
Vinyasas and Paint Brushes
Who says wine is limited to tastings and dinners? Start the day right with relaxing yoga and mimosas, and you might just find that your vinyasas flow even better with a little bubbly. Activities throughout the day include a guided nature walk along the White River Trail where deep breaths of clean country air are highly encouraged, a Paint ’N Sip class to explore your creativity and bring home an original work of art.
From social sippers to sommeliers, there are numerous tastings and dinner to satisfy your palate. Friday evening, dine at one of Grand Geneva’s three restaurants, Geneva ChopHouse, Ristorante Brissago and Grand Café, each featuring a special menu paired with local wine. Lunch on Saturday has a fun twist. In addition to a delicious meal, walk away with take-home tips from one of Grand Geneva’s chefs. Dinner on Saturday evening will be unforgettable, with a five-course meal at Ristorante Brissago with each course paired with select wines.
Education and Seminars
Round out your weekend with some learning to go along with your fun. Partake in seminars featuring industry experts sharing their knowledge about the world of wine. Sessions include learning about grape varietals and the origins of their flavors, debunking myths about the quality of wine and celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Judgement of Paris, the tasting that revolutionized the wine world.
Weekend packages are available for the full experience, as well as tickets for the above events. Note that new activities are being added as well, so be sure to check the schedule for the latest information or call 800-558-3417.
