Golf like a Pro at Grand Geneva’s Championship Golf Courses

19 May, 2017

When you’re golfing at Grand Geneva, you’re playing the best courses Wisconsin offers. You should learn from the best as well. This May, our PGA Certified Golf Professional, Kyle Kunash, will give you a complimentary 10 minute golf lesson. Before you head out among the bunkers for four hours, step onto our practice green and get some pointers to help your game.

The Brute and The Highlands offer four sets of tees to choose from based on each players’ ability:

  • Tournament tees marked in blue
  • Championship tees marked in white
  • Regular tees marked in gold
  • Forward tees marked in red

This gives golfers a choice of where to start. If you need the extra help, don’t be afraid to start from the forward box.

Playing a golf scramble is a fun way for players to take in the beauty of the sport without the pressure of keeping individual scores. Each player hits a tee shot on each hole, but everyone plays from the spot of the best shot. When you’re relaxing after a meeting with colleagues or escaping from your conference, a friendly game of golf is the way to go at Grand Geneva.

Help keep the turf in great shape all season.

Take Care of the Turf

If you come out this spring when the course may be a little wet, please avoid making sharp turns, or speeding along in the cart and coming to a complete stop. This damages the turf grass. The same goes for driving through wet or muddy areas, or grass with standing water. Keep the cart away from naturalized areas to protect the grasses and wildlife.

And remember, if you do leave a divot during your swing, cover it up with grass seed before you leave. We want to keep the courses beautiful for everyone.

And if you’re up for a tournament, Grand Geneva is hosting an 18-hole Golf Classic on The Brute June 3 at 1:30 pm. $129 per person plus tax, includes cocktail hour at the event reception. Gather your foursome for a great day of golf and a chance to win one of many coveted prizes.
