TreadFest coming to Adventure Center at Grand Geneva

09 Aug, 2017

The annual Treadfest Mountain Bike Race is coming back to Grand Geneva the weekend of August 26. Race day is Sunday, August 27. Races kick off at 9:30am and the momentum builds all the way up to the Elite Pro races at 1:30pm – some of which last 120 minutes. Talk about endurance!

The best part about this race is the terrain The Mountain Top offers. When it’s not covered in snow, Grand Geneva’s ski hill is the perfect venue for mountain biking. The Adventure Center offers mountain bike rentals and trails every day from 9am-5pm (but it’s closed during this race, so come back another time for a leisurely ride).

Treadfest’s website describes the course as, “built by racers for racers. The course brings out the best of the Mountain Top topography as it shifts from tight, technical single track to wide open big ring double-track. The thigh burning climbs are rewarded with fast and fun descents. Hear the roar of the crowd as you finish in front of the spectator friendly Mountain Top Lodge.”

There’s a King of the Mountain (KMC) Challenge on Saturday from 3-5pm, where bikers race to the top for coveted cash prizes. They call it a “lung busting climb.” Get your legs ready!

Racers are welcome to stay the night at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa so they can wake up refreshed and ready to ride after a night of carbo-loading spaghetti at Next Door Pub. Rates start at $199 for Saturday night and $99 for Sunday night. Stay the night and enjoy the trip to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin! Book online here.
